Project “Traces of Memory: The Funeral Heritage of Zdolbuniv Region in Digital Form”

The project was our civic organization's first attempt to comprehensively document and digitize the burial culture of the Zdolbuniv region, where Ukrainians, Jews, Poles, Germans, and Czechs coexisted throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. The gravestones that have been preserved in local cemeteries are important sources of information about people, their lives, communities, and historical processes.

The Voice from the Underground Project

The Soviet repressive machine left behind not only millions of broken lives, but also deep trauma of oblivion. The spaces of former prisons, destroyed archives, forbidden memories, and decades of silence have turned the memory of repression into a fragmented, often uninterpreted territory.
