Comprehensive expertise on the renovation of the historical and industrial center of Zdolbuniv

Relevance of the project:

Zdolbuniv has a long tradition of industrial production, which has shaped the city's economy and culture for over a century. However, the old industrial buildings of the cement plant, which are of great historical and cultural value, are now in a state of disrepair. Preserving this heritage and integrating it into modern urban life is a key challenge that the project addresses.

The renovation of industrial areas has become a successful global practice that preserves the authenticity of the city, stimulates the local economy, and attracts new cultural and community activities.

The main goals and objectives of the project:

• Research: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the technical condition of buildings and the historical, cultural, and architectural value of the plant's territory.
• Conceptualization: Створити деталізовану концепцію реновації території, яка врахує історичну спадщину та сучасні потреби громади.
• Партисипативний підхід: Engage the local community, experts, and businesses in actively participating in shaping the vision for the future of the space.
• Road map: Develop a step-by-step plan for implementing the project, including the necessary resources, stages of reconstruction, and financing and management mechanisms.

Main components of the project:

1. Research expertise

• Analysis of the technical condition of the plant's buildings and structures.
• Historical and cultural analysis of the territory and identification of key objects that need to be preserved.
• Urban analysis of the territory and determination of its potential for integration into urban life.

2. Participatory activities

• Conducting a series of workshops, public consultations, and discussions with the community, businesses, local government representatives, and experts.
• Creating a platform for collecting residents' ideas and wishes regarding the future space.

3. Development of the concept and design of the space

• Створення архітектурних та дизайнерських рішень, що відповідають збереженню промислової спадщини.
• Формування візуальних матеріалів (3D-візуалізації, презентації) для залучення інвесторів та партнерів.

4. Стратегія сталого розвитку

• Визначення економічних моделей функціонування простору, включаючи можливі соціальні підприємства, бізнес-проєкти та культурні заходи.
• Розробка рекомендацій щодо управління та довгострокового розвитку об'єкту після реновації.
